AMcWhirterParticipantAir Berlin will cease all operations after October 28. Its long-haul services are due to end on October 15.
And according to reports its deal with Easyjet is “at risk of collapse.”

FaroFlyerParticipantSitting in the lounge at DUS waiting for AB to Munich. Bought the ticket last week. Added BA Gold card which gave me fast track security, priority boarding and preferred seating, all at no additional charge.
Similar situation to Monarch. Offering too much for too little.
I shall miss them both

FlightlevelParticipantFR was right its a stitch up for LH,not exactly competive to give all your second airline’s assets to the major airline.
Trust Niki Lauda complains too, he’s far more likely to make a success of an airline with his name on it than LH!
The price LH pays is ridiculous even ‘though the aircraft are leased, all those landing slots for a price that would buy about six slots at LHR!13 Oct 2017

Mark CaswellKeymasterAir Berlin plane does “lap of honour” at Dusseldorf on the occasion of the carrier’s last long-haul service. Looks like it caused some alarm for passengers and those on the ground.

FlightlevelParticipantThey walked away 5-6 months before they said they would back it (for 18 months) so they created the problem?
Should have sent an email – they’re not legal in a court!15 Dec 2018
