But the slots in question were actually owned by Skyteam partner Air France/KLM. Both carriers have cut back their Heathrow operations in recent years as passengers have either switched to Eurostar or taken flights from other London area airports. Now according to Dutch aviation website luchtvaartnieuws.com the six slot pairs have been sold to Delta for the sum of US$276 million. Article in Dutch language: http://www.luchtvaartnieuws.nl/nieuws/categorie/2/airlines/air-france-klm-verkoopt-slots-heathrow-aan-delta It therefore values each slot pair at US$46 million which sounds a lot but is still below the US$60 million which SAS received from the sale of a single slot pait to a still unnamed carrier. http://mb.cision.com/Main/290/9712156/339589.pdf 22nd October 2015 at 06:17 #538944 Tom OtleyKeymaster Looks like confirmation of the story on our sister site from last week http://buyingbusinesstravel.com/news/1524833-delta-cements-heathrow-presence Author Posts Viewing 3 posts - 1 through 3 (of 3 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
