I recently flew Aegean Airlines from ATH to LHR on an A321.

I’m 6’4 and need plenty of legroom. At online check in I chose seat 23A which was marked an emergency exit. Asked an A3 staffer at T1 and they confirmed this was an exit row.

When I boarded I noticed that row 23 was in front of the exit and 24 was the exit row. Ended up with a crappy normal seat.

Enquired with A3 and they said that they categorise row 23 as an exit row as well as 24 on the A321. What bollocks!!!!!!!!

I think this is misleading to customers wishing to chose an exit row and unecessarily confusing. Row 23 passengers are nowhere near the exit as there is a crew seat between the exit and that row.

I have tried to get an explanation from Aegean but they stupidly insist that 23 is an exit row, even acknowledging that the exit is in front of row 24 only.

For a western airline in the Star Alliance, I find this misrepresentation ridiculous.

Your thoughts? Alex McW, what do you think?

    Thanks in advance.

    Alex
