I currently have an “Enrolled in E-Gate” sticker on my passport from Abu Dhabi airport. Can anyone confirm whether this means I can use an eGate / Smart Gate in Dubai airport or are they completely separate systems.

    Thanks

They have the same name but you need to register in both cities alas. In the past if you enter in Dubai and leave from Abu Dhabi it did not recognise this, resulting in issues on the next visit, but I think that has now changed, its easy to register on arrival in Dubai, there is a specific immigration lane for this.
    Cheers

to add to this, the eGate card works in both cities. I am enrolled in the Abu Dhabi eGate and also carry the card. On occasions, where one queue has been longer, I’ve used the card in Abu Dhabi.
