I have to agree with OZ. This is for sensible travel reports based on facts. You provide no facts as to why we should avoid other than you were delayed for 24 hours. Why was Etihad stupid, what was the reason for the delay. For a carrier that only has one flight per day into Chicago, with the remainder leaving from two other US cities all around the same time, it becomes inevitable that a 24 hour delay will happen.

However I don’t understand, if it was the carriers fault why you weren’t placed on an alternative flight with another carrier. I think in order to get sensible replies you need to be clearer to the reason for the delay.
