I think where LH went wrong with BD was not clearing out the management at the hall and putting in a whole new team. BD’s customer facing staff were excellent and many were dreading being swallowed up by BA where they saw no opportunities to shine and excel. If they wanted to work for BA many could have done years before but they chose to stay with BD. In the end, any job was better than none so they went to BA but not many are glad about it.

Listening to them and putting in effective management would have saved BD in all probability. Instead LH allowed the madness of the beancounters at the hall to continue instead of applying a more rigorous approach which one might have expected of LH.
