Disappointing to see that Aer Lingus has joined the race to the bottom with regard to their food offering in their DUB lounge.

Passing through lunchtime Friday last the only food items available included soup, brown bread, wrapped cheese sticks, tiny muffins and biscuits. No sandwiches, crisps, chocolate. It was truely DREADFUL. I checked with the catering staff and was told that this was the new day time offering, and basically that that was it for the rest of the day. Breakfast items had been removed at 10.00am

By comparison, travelling through MAN lunchtime today using the Aer Lingus approved Escape lounge – full plates of cheeses (fresh), cold meats (fresh), salads (fresh), fruit, cookies, cakes, nachos, sandwiches (to order, AND free) plus the option to purchase some hot meal items.

Aer Lingus really need to cop themselves on if they think that this is the way forward. They charge Euro25 to avail of their facility and without any hesitation I say IT IS NOT WORTH IT. A smoked salmon bagel is available at the bar in the main concourse for Euro7.

The DAA run Anna Livia lounge next door has an equally depressing food offering…just avoid them both.
