I have taken Ryanair from the UK to Bergamo (Milan East as it is known). It is someway from Milan but great if you are going north or north east of the city.
With regards to flights being cancelled, i have come to the conclusion that they seem to be the most determind to get you from A to B either on time or as close to scheduled departure. With their extremely tight margin, with a plane not in the air/cancelled, the loss clock starts ticking straight away.
Have never experienced winter conditions at Bergamo however I have experienced ‘pea soup’ summer night time fog conditions. We were one of the only ones to get away. Transavia diverted their flight to Genoa and then coached passengers to the airport.
If anyone wants to try and get your destination and on time….Ryanair will certainly try their hardest…..
