But there are BFS-LGW flights with EZY. I agree that BFS is much further out of tpwn but at least there is air service.

FR was mooted to replace EI but FR and BHD are not the best of friends and in any case FR quit BHD a few years ago.

I can’t envisage Flybe taking over BHD-LGW. In a bid to raise cash it sold its LGW slots two years ago for a reported £20 million.

There was a feasibility study drawn up in 2008 to extend BHD’s runway by 600 metres which would then allow airlines to operate more economically without the present take off weight restrictions.

BHD is similar to LCY in that its runway restricts the type of aircraft, destinations and so on that it can serve.

But the extension never happened.
