@trippleF: Fully agree! I have hundred thousands of Avios and cannot spent them on upgrades – yet there are plenty open seats in Club! Really annoying and irritating! BA madness! And guess what happens when the obligatory customer satisfaction survey arrives a few days after one of many unsuccessful attempts to upgrade OR a few days after the actual flight….
I cannot understand why BA / EC does not allow:
1) waitlisting for an upgrade (this could be limited to senior EC Members)
2) last minute / standby upgrade at check-in or the gate, when the chance of selling a seat is minimal.
