Here’s the real scandal. We’re not paying a surcharge, we’re paying for all the fuel and more! Sitting by the pool with nothing much to do and consulting various sites as well as BA.Com for the surcharges, I found the following.

I just looked at lhr – cpt on the 744 v1
F & C = 66 seats @ 350
Y (Inc. Premium) = 279 seats @300
Total £ 106,000 or £53,000 each way.

Fuel burn 36,000 gallons @ average $1.67 comes to about £ 40,000

Now this is back of envelope with figures from Boeing, IATA etc so BA could be paying more, though likely they pay less, and if so then the “surcharges” pay for ALL the fuel and BA make a further £ 13,000 on top.

It would be interesting to hear from other posters if my figures are more or less correct or if I’ve made an error somewhere?
