Outsourced or not, it is still the carrier that is responsible. You can outsource tasks, not responsibilities.

I am quite sure there is more to this story. Overbooking is a common occurance and is hardly ever discussed here as a real issue.
Or is this only an issue because it happened to newly weds coming back from their honeymoon?
