Although it would be preferable to have diagnosis face to face, I understand airlines do have a facility to engage qualified medical advice remotely. Although the CC have CPR training and other first aid training, I believe authorisation to use a defibrillator (or injections such as insulin) though would come from the ground prior to use. Likewise advice on other conditions and courses of action.

Perhaps LondonLad or other pilot could comment on the advice they can access in order to make the best decision on routing if no doctors were available.
