Historically, Iceland has been a hideously expensive place to visit for Britons, but the recent economic crisis has made the country probably once-in-a-lifetime affordable.
The low-cost carrier Iceland Express now flies from Stansted and Gatwick to Rejkjavik, and has limited availability of sale fares for bookings made before January 23rd. Oddly, the fares don’t seem available from the airline’s homepage – only from a special ‘Iceland Offers’ landing page:
Owing to higher taxes ex-UK, the cheapest one way London to Reykjavik is £76, with the one way inbound from £69. Travel by March 24th.
