That is an interesting post, Mark, your discussions partly answer the question I was asking myself – where have all the cheap fares gone?

Compared to this time last year, it is very difficult to find heavy discounts in business class, and it also seems more difficult to find business class seats out of London longhaul on BA using BA miles.

But BA shorthaul business class availability of discounted fares and BA miles fares seems quite good.

Lufthansa have some reasonable fares to and from Asia for later in the year and Finnair also have some not-too-bad prices as well as a more direct route to Japan and northern Asia.

Air travel is definitely getting more tiresome and airports and airlines seem to care little about that. An airline does not have direct control over airport security, but it does have direct control over whether or not there is priority boarding for business class. If airlines really want to keep people flying in premium cabins they had better start looking a bit more enthusiastic about it.
