This does not suprise me as Joyce is keen on developing Jetstar – re announcement with Air Asia. Qantas wants to also persue a more independent focus. In this mornings Aust papers Joyce is talking of a half year profit of AUD150 million for the 6 months ending December 2009. Most of this is coming from Jetstar, QF Domestic and good old QF FF, which are all showing good growth, unfortunately QF intl is struggling with increased competition from Middle East carriers and Delta and VA on the Pacific routes. Joyce also said that an announcement would be made within weeks regarding the reconfiguration of its long haul aircarft. Insiders say that First Class will only be offerd on the A380 – daily by the end of 2010 : LHR, QF009, QF031 – LAX, QF093, QF011. Lets hope they ditch the lie flat angles seats and intsall the A380 J class flat bed seats.
