Yes, it is pretty convenient for me coming from NW London: either the ThamesLink or we can park at mum’s a mile south in Pound Hill and not have long term parking fees. LGW is also, normally, not quite as frenetic as LHR and the new owners have invested some serious dosh in making it a pretty impressive place these days. Once the planning application is submitted for the second runway NW of the existing strip, I wonder how many airlines will have a think about their fixation with LHR. Okay, so Moscow is not exactly a world-class hub but they manage to split services between two substantial international (and one domestic only) airports.
