Here is my thought of the 2 giants.
Design: very nice, with floor to ceiling window, providing tons of natural light and amazing view of the Tarmac and high ceiling!
Staff + Security: very friendly and always ready to help and assist. Work efficiently and mostly focus on their work and interact in a friendly yet professional manner. Also, fast!
Leisure area: Plenty of options from bar to casino, restaurant to library and mini museum as well as reflexology.
Design: T5 is grand! Abundant of natural light. T4 design is ok. But kinda depressing with limited sunshine. Ceiling is quiet low!
Staff + Security: staffs in the shops are nice and friendly, but the securities are DREADING and SLOW!! The staffs especially in the security area think that they are way above us and rude! Interested mainly in theirselves and colleagues. “We are busy” busy their head! They were talking about their personal life while lots of people are Q-ing and waiting for their bag to be checked! No team works at all.
Also, a “supervisor” in T4 was sexist, a male passenger was asking if someone could help him check his bag after it went sideway post X-ray as he was almost late for his flight. The “supervisor” instead of helping, he lectured and ignored him and continued talking about his life to his colleague. About 10 minutes after that, a young lady ask for help, guess what, he helped. One word, Disgusting!
Leisure: plenty of nice shops and restaurants in T5. Very limited in T4.
There you go….. For me, AMS wins hands down.
VK: Perhaps that £10bn out of £14bn should be use for restaffing, training and manner lesson.
Just to clarify my top 5 EU airports:
AMS, ZRH, CDG, BCN, FRA
