MarcusUK, excellent post. In a nutshell you describe everything that is wrong with business in the UK today, charge the most and give the least you can get away with. To many people know the price of everything and the value of nothing. As the owner of a business it is depressing how much tax we pay, we are taxed for almost every breath we take whether it be employing people selling things, maintaining our offices or investing in our future, the government wants its share and for what?

From next April half of our considerable monthly business rates go to the local authority and they won’t even empty our bins but insist we find an independent contractor who because we have a low volume of waste, charges us more to recycle than for general waste, mad or what?

Big companies are all at screwing every penny out of us, LHR is a fine example, it is a third world facility staffed by morons in customer facing roles who if you raise an eyebrow at you are being aggressive or abusive to. You can’t win.

UK Plc needs a good shake up. We all laugh at the French but maybe there are things we should be learning from them about quality of life and good quality public services. If they as a nation had to put up with what we do there would be protests.
