VK again, it’s not the amount of money you spend. Its the result that counts. The result, especially at these amounts, is not great. And there seems to be no viable strategy.
Every expert says the same thing: you can’t grow the same way your competitors do at this location. The Bloomberg article you were refering to says the same.
And the ridiculous increase of charges won’t help either.
Schiphol has direct connections to over 25 main and regional airports in the UK. LHR doesn’t even come close.
AMS, CDG and FRA are linked by high speed rail links and have great non congested motorway systems.
Unless the UK government comes up with a real plan and starts executing this plan LHR is to keep losing ground against its main competitors on the continent.
I believe this should not be a point of discussion, but more of a wake up call (again) for the UK government. After all Bill Clinton already said it in the early nineties: It’s the economy, stupid.
