Impressive plans indicating a clear strategy and Schiphol has time and time again demonstrated their ability to execute.
Plans are drawn up for a 7th (yes, seventh) runway and land has been earmarked for this runway. Only a final go ahead is required which, according to reports in the Dutch press, depend on an agreement on strategies between Schiphol and their main users (notably KLM).
With connections between 26 airports in the UK and Schiphol this airport is truly a major competitor to LHR. Not forgetting the much lower tariffs and therefor considerably lower ticket prices via Schiphol flying via the Netherlands is for an increasing number of British people not an option, but a first.
And Schiphol deserves it.
Schiphol seems to be doing everything that, regretably, LHR and the British government do not.
