I feel the Scots should be able to set their own rate of APD if that will help them attract more business from QR et al. It could then have the effect of reducing APD elsewhere as other airport put pressure on the government to lower or abolish this iniquitous tax.

This will help the whole of the UK to be more competitive and drive business to and through Britain rather than away from it.

If Scotland then becomes more competitive and attracts more business / tourist traffic and DC refuses to budge for the rest of the UK, then good for Scotland I say, they deserve it!
