Where to stay at Manchester airport

19 Dec 2022 by Mark Caswell
Manchester Airport Terminal 3

This month sees the opening of the Ibis Budget Manchester Airport, part of the £1 billion Airport City Manchester development which will eventually comprise offices, manufacturing and logistics facilities, hotels and retail.

The Ibis property will be followed by the Holiday Inn Manchester Airport in early 2023, so we thought we’d take the opportunity to take a look at some of the hotel options at and around the UK’s fourth busiest airport.

There are two main clusters of properties which could be considered “at airport” hotels – one to the north of the runways close to the the terminal buildings and rail station, and one to the west of the airport close to junction 6 of the M56. The latter are also situated on the easiest side of the airport to access the Runway Visitor Park.

In addition we have included some of the hotels within a few miles of the airport – and readers can also see our comprehensive round-up of new and upcoming properties in central Manchester (published in May 2022).

Want to share your experiences of any of the hotels below, or tell us which properties we have missed off the list? Head over to our forum to join in the discussion…
