Business Traveller readers enjoyed an evening of networking, dinner and wine tasting earlier this month, at our latest event in in association with The Wine Flyer.
Over 60 attendees were treated to a showcasing of some of the group’s wines over a three-course dinner at No.4 Hamilton Place in London’s Mayfair.
The starter featured smoked Goosnargh duck, watermelon and cashew satay paired with a Patricius Dry Furmint 2020, Tokaj, Hungary and a Chateau Ste Michelle Columbia Valley Riesling 2020, Washington State USA.
The main dish of braised beef cheek, smoked mash and chargrilled greens was accompanied by Teusner ‘The Riebke’ Shiraz 2019, Barossa Valley – a double winner at the 2022 Cellars in the Sky awards – and an elegant Moulin Rose de Malescasse 2018, Haut-Medoc, Bordeaux, France.
Dessert comprised a refreshing roasted strawberry sorbet with clotted cream cassonade and vanilla arlette paired with a Vergelegen Semillion Straw Wine 2015, Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Certified sommelier and international wine buyer and consultant Kelly Stevenson was on hand to give guests a detailed introduction to the evening’s wines, which also included a six-litre Methuselah of Whispering Angel Côtes de Provence Rosé and Bolney Estate Blanc de Blancs 2018 to enjoy on the terrace as guests arrived.
Meanwhile the evening’s guest speaker was former rugby union player Will Greenwood MBE, ex Harlequins and Leicester Tigers centre, and member of England’s 2003 World Cup winning team, who entertained the room with anecdotes from his illustrious career.

At the end of the evening, guests took home a customised hand-painted bottle of Rock Angel by Caves d’Esclans Provence and a £60 voucher for The Wine Flyer.
