Recent refurbishments see Royal Cliff Hotels cement its position as one of Pattaya’s most impressive hospitality landmarks

For more than 40 years, Royal Cliff Hotels has been a hospitality landmark in the city of Pattaya in Thailand. Its four properties – Royal Cliff Beach Hotel, Royal Cliff Beach Terrace, Royal Cliff Grand Hotel and Royal Wing Suites and Spa – occupy a vast luxury and lifestyle cluster on the city’s western shore.

That’s a long time for any hotel to be consistently providing five-star service to its patrons, who have ranged from celebrities and sports icons to heads of state – and even royalty. Not content to rest on its laurels, however, the Group has recently comprehensively overhauled its look and facilities, further cementing its place as a modern luxury landmark. Renowned Thai architect, Mr Duangrit Bunnag, once again oversaw the construction and design of the new enhancements.

The changes are evident as soon as guests arrive at the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel, which has been given a newly remodelled entrance complete with a serene circular water feature. The wall of water that the fountain creates is especially striking at night when it is lit up.

Enter the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel, meanwhile, and the look transforms into one of sweeping arches, natural stone floors, giant wood-clad columns and five glittering chandeliers that make up the hotel’s newly designed lobby. Traditional designs combine with modern additions, notably the new LED digital displays showcasing the hotel’s various facilities, to give the space a chic but welcoming feel. The lobby even has its own new water feature showcasing a statue of Phra Apai Mani, the prince who forms the key character of the Thai epic poem of the same name.

A key addition to the property is with the guestrooms: visitors will now have the option of booking new Ocean Deluxe rooms. Designed with business and leisure travellers in mind, the rooms are modern but calming and feature a relaxed, white and tan colour scheme that evokes the beachy landscape around the hotel. There is even a private balcony. The hotel’s Mini Suite Plus rooms, meanwhile, retain their previous designs but have been given all-new furniture and new bathroom fixtures along with a slightly brighter colour scheme.

Also new to the hotel are the Bar and Bakery, which have been transformed into new social spaces featuring plush seating and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the pool area. Alternatively, guests can head to the Panorama Pool View and Sea View restaurant, which has been given a fresh redesign that is notably more sleek and minimalist than before. The new look also eases the transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing guests to feel close to the sea or as though they are relaxing in a tropical garden, making it a great option for corporate events.

Outside of the building, guests will also find themselves spoilt for choice with seven swimming pools available to them, including a new pool at the Fitz Club. The pool has been given a tropical rainforest vibe complete with trees and slides, appealing to both corporate groups and families.

A key attraction of Royal Cliff is its proximity to the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH), making the hotel a prime destination for business events groups. The property itself has more than 13,000 sqm of events space and has even given its Royal Summit Chamber an upgrade, with higher ceilings and a bright colour scheme. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure ample natural light as well as incredible sunset views in the evenings.

Smaller groups and individual business travellers haven’t been ignored either. The Royal Cliff Beach Hotel has been given a new Business Center, its predecessor having been knocked down and completely refurbished.

The same is true of the hotel’s Beautique Beauty Salon for visitors in need of a little pampering during their stay.

Add to all this the hotel’s famed hospitality, and it isn’t hard to see why Royal Cliff maintained its position as one of Pattaya’s most impressive hospitality landmarks for more than four decades.
