This month, Jodhpur is getting its hottest new city residence — The Rohet House, the latest addition to the boutique hospitality brand, House of Rohet. Once the royal abode of the late Thakur Sahib Manvendra Singh and the late Thakurani Sahiba Jayendra Kumari, this private property boasts a history that dates back to 1969.

What’s inside?

Design: The luxury boutique residence offers a modern take on traditional Rajasthani art. Designed by Thakurani Sahiba Rashmi Singh Rohet, the property is built out of Jodhpur sandstone (chittar patthar) and red ochre (geru), trademark aspects of Jodhpur architecture. The Rohet House encourages social interaction between guests in the gardens and terrace lounges.

Luxury residence: The Rohet House has a total of nine accommodation options — six guestrooms and three suites. The rooms are spread across three floors and are done in orange, pink, green and blue shades. Unique motifs and artwork inspired by Indian mythology and popular fables add to the modern yet contemporary vibe. The bathrooms are fitted with Makrana marble and offer Forest Essentials toiletries. A Nespresso machine is available for your morning coffee ritual.

Culinary offering: Tucked away in the back garden, The Rohet House’s restaurant features traditional recipes from the royal family’s personal kitchen. Serving both traditional Rajasthani and international cuisine, the space is adorned with chandeliers, antique mirrors, traditional pink Makrana stone, rustic grills and fresh flowers. The furnishing includes lounge tables, long sofa benches and independent chairs that create an ideal setting for large and small gatherings.

The Rohet House takes its F&B offerings to a whole new level with the incorporation of a herb terrace, letting guests choose their favourite herb that can later be added to their meal.

Excursions: Just like House of Rohet’s other properties, this one too will focus on highlighting local bespoke experiences to guests. Exclusive excursions into the old city, curated shopping and street food trails and early morning walks to the market or visiting temples are some of the activities that one can enjoy while at The Rohet House.

WHERE IS IT? Situated in the upmarket Ratanada area of Jodhpur, The Rohet House is close to Jodhpur Airport, Polo Ground and Sardar Market.
