Business Traveller Awards 2012

17 Sep 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Welcome to the results of the Business Traveller Awards 2012. Once again you, our readers in the UK, voted to reward those companies whose products and services you really value.

This year's awards were announced at a luncheon on September 17 in the ballroom of Kensington’s Royal Garden hotel, and presented by newsreader, presenter and journalist Sir Trevor McDonald.

Sponsored by Panasonic and First Great Western, the Business Traveller Awards are voted for by readers of the magazine, with the results authenticated by an independent auditing company, and are widely recognised as the market’s benchmark for excellence.

This year both British Airways and Singapore Airlines walked away with four awards apiece, with BA winning Best Airline, Best Short-Haul carrier, Best Business Class and Best Frequent Flyer Programme, and SIA bagging Best Long-Haul Airline, Best Economy Class, Best Asian Airline and Best Cabin Staff.

Emirates once again won the award for Best First Class, while Virgin Atlantic walked away with Best Premium Economy Class, and United won Best North American Airline.

In the hotels category Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts regained the award for Best Business Hotel Chain Worldwide, while Premier Inn won Best Budget Hotel Chain, and the Fullerton Bay Singapore won Best New Business Hotel.

Hertz triumphed in the categories for Best Car Rental Company in North America and Best Car Rental Company Worldwide, while Avis won for Best Car Rental Company in Europe.

Singapore Changi Airport walked away with the award for Best Airport in the World for the 25th consecutive year, and was presented with a special silver award in recognition of this incredible achievement.

Business Traveller also used the awards to unveil its chosen cause for the year - Children with Cancer. The charity will receive all funds raised by our annual charity auction, so please visit businesstraveller.com/auctions from the end of October for information on how it works and the great prizes up for grabs, which have been kindly donated by hotels, airlines, car rental companies and others.
