Dear God, what a hideous thing. I hope it isn’t “most apt”, it looks as though something crashed… Particularly the first picture.
One can only hope it looks better in the metal
I think it is a great shame that the UK’s airports don’t feature more and better art. The only piece I can recall at T5 for instance, is the Cloud, which looks pretty lame even when it is working (when the clatter reminds me of those old railway signboards)
Here is how it could be done: http://forbesindia.com/aperture/slideshow/mumbai-t2-terminals-art-collection/37475/1
When competed, there will be more than 5,000 artworks on display

canuckladParticipantMumbai sets the standard, although I’m a big fan of this collection…..for obvious reasons

I also wasn’t aware that the airport actively supports local artists through its own foundation.
On that thing hanging in T2, the last thing I would want to be reminded of (especially if i’m a feardie cat) is motions a STUNT plane would make just before boarding : )

JohnHarperParticipantOh well, each to their own, I think it’s awful and am sure the money could have been better spent.

BigDog.ParticipantYes each to their own. It is down to aesthetics and personal taste. I don’t get Picasso but really appreciate Dali.
Ian_from_HKG – 24/04/2014 06:02 GMT I understand your view when looking at it end on (pic 1)however even from that perspective it does inspire initial tumult/turbulence.
Viewed side on (last pic 4), my preferred perspective, as a whole imo it is highly evocative of “slipstream”.24 Apr 2014

BigDog.ParticipantWant to see inside T2 – The Queens Terminal – before it opens to the public on 4th June?
Question Time is being transmitted from there and you can apply to be in the audience, and get a good preview slipstream to boot.. then report back here.
The panellists have yet to be announced.
