GivingupBAParticipantYou didn’t mention your budget, but I usually stay at Swissotel the Stamford – not the most modern or best hotel in Singapore by a long chalk, but it’s good value for money and the harbour view rooms on the upper floors have fantastic views IMO. It also has a subway station in the mall right below it and so is in a very convenient location.
Hope you have a great trip!

onajetplaneParticipantI think the Mandarin Oriental is fab, but for me the Fullerton is the top spot in Singapore.

PrakashMehtaParticipantI work with a Singapore headquartered bank and hence having to travel there quite often have stayed at multiple hotels. Fullerton comes on tops and would highly recommend it basis its large modern rooms in a historic building and the level of service.

AlanOrton1ParticipantRegent (a Four Seasons hotel, but not the Four Seasons hotel, which is about 1km away) is excellent, my favourite in Sing.
Really wonderful service and often inexpensive compared to other top drawer hotels here.Closest hotel to Botanical Gardens, which is a great place to escape to.
Downside is it can be a pain to get to CBD in rush hour / is not particularly close to the MRT.

AsiaFrequentFlyerParticipantIntercontinental for me. Purchase an Ambassador Card if your don’t have priority / automatic upgrade status and usually you will get a suite. Works for me each time.
Lounge is good, gym and pool ok. Location excellent

ChristopherRParticipantIf flying SIA, consider purchasing a Singapore Stopover Package (and stay at the Hilton (their executive rooms are great)

midorosan2ParticipantPlus the food in the Executive Club is excellent, try to get a room with a balcony overlooking Orchard Road.

AisleSeatTravellerParticipantI’d recommend The Fort Canning Hotel (set within tropical parkland) or Sofitel So (convenient for the city centre and attractions but in the CBD so quiet outside biz hours)

CathayLoyalist2ParticipantLived here for 16 years. With Singapore being relatively small location wise you are not far from anything as the MRT(underground) is very cheap and efficient and taxi’s are good value save peak period when fares do jump. If you are on a leisure trip base yourself in/around Orchard Road. Rather then spend hours on a proprietary hotel website search at http://www.expedia.co.uk where you can select hotels in a given location and see the prices. Pretty much all the hotels at 3* and above will offer good value. My personal favourite is The Regent ( there is also a Four Seasons up the road and part of the same family. Another website is ‘Kayak’ that also looks at other OTA websites so can see which is offering the best rate.

frustratedflyerParticipantI like the Fullerton but the newer Fullerton Bay is just superb. The reliatvely new Sofitel So is nice and I am a great fan of the Shangri-La Singapore and the Valley Wing there is great. I have not stayed at the Regent for while but I used to enjoy it. If you are on more of a budget Hotel Jen (by ShangriLa) on Orchard is in a good location, nice pool and modern rooms.
