travelworld2ParticipantAs mentioned today on the wonderful frequent flyer website Head for Points, BA have started a new feature for Executive Club members- My flightpath. Go to it from Manage My Booking once you have logged in.
It shows a summary of where you have been with BA and partners, a map of the countries to where you have flown as well as other interesting features. Likely to be no more use other than as a bit of fun- but fun it is..

SergeantMajorParticipantMore innovation from BA as their £5bn investment programme really gets into its stride.
You can access it via your BAEC homepage by clicking here:

I’m really impressed with this fun piece of kit – nice to be able to look back over the years and be reminded of trips, people and places I’d forgotten about.

first_class_pleaseParticipantVery good.
I use http://www.flightmemory.com also for keeping track of my whereabouts.

1nfrequentParticipantI’d like to check this out but it looks like the system’s down due to a problem. Ah well.

BigDog.ParticipantA word of caution if one is concerned with a “big brother” mentality.
Through cookies, logging/recording IP address with logons/account access it is now possible to get a fair idea of the online customer whether they are logged into an account or not.
This is useful when assessing the potential customer and have individual dynamic pricing
This is a useful infographic.
Have recently received two invites to join “Signals” – an ability to know when someone has opened your e-mail. This tech has been used with Google Analytics and is becoming more widespread.

You are being watched…. and analysed…. not just to target you with tailored info but also understand price tolerance.

SergeantMajorParticipantWorks fine for me.
BigDog, are you alleging that BA is using this tool for dynamic pricing? That’s quite an allegation. Have you any evidence to support this?

SergeantMajorParticipantBroken for me now, too – must have been all those people clicking on the link over lunchtime.
Obviously BA’s continuing innovation is very popular!
Thankfully, all the other http://www.ba.com functionality still works.

Wouldn’t it have been better to spend the money on something useful like a decent new F or C seat? After all SM you told us only last week that you didn’t like partitioned seats like EY have in F so you must detest BA long haul C!
Surely you would prefer a useful innovation rather than something like this. After all, I know where I’ve been and I suspect most others do too.

LuganoPirateParticipantOld hat I’m afraid. Miles and More have had this for ages. Works perfectly and shows all sorts of info but I can’t compare it as the BA site seems to be down – as mentioned by several others. It’s fun but hardly an innovation on BA’s part!

Tirana1ParticipantAll that is obvious is that the “continuing innovation” does not work. Still a nice idea though and somehow encouraging that the “geek” element in so many frequent travellers is being catered to. I did get it to work partially earlier and was rather shocked at how much of my life has been spent on BA metal. Shortcomings in execution are, I fear, more generally a BA weak spot. But nevertheless a jolly good idea.
