There aren’t that many dry airlines these days.

Charles-PParticipantA reflection of the wider current society in which we all live. Like many here I fly a lot both long and short haul and I have a multitude of stories from the DYKWIA type to the idiot who think that abusing cabin crew is the way to go.
I do however like the idea of a Buddhist Airline. The four Noble Truths of Buddhism would seem to be a good starting point for any travel organisation đŸ™‚
The Truth of Dukkha is that all conditional phenomena and experiences are not ultimately satisfying;
The Truth of the Origin of Dukkha is that craving for and clinging to what is pleasurable and aversion to what is not pleasurable result in becoming, rebirth, dissatisfaction, and redeath;
The Truth of the Cessation of Dukkha is that putting an end to this craving and clinging also means that rebirth, dissatisfaction, and redeath can no longer arise;
The Truth of the Path Of Liberation from Dukkha is that by following the Noble Eightfold Path—namely, behaving decently, cultivating discipline, and practicing mindfulness and meditation—an end can be put to craving, to clinging, to becoming, to rebirth, to dissatisfaction, and to redeath.15 Feb 2016

Poshgirl58ParticipantIs it me, or do we seem to have an increasing number of brainless idiots around these days? Another one on the loose in London last night!

AMcWhirterParticipantYet another violent incident. This time it happened onboard an Emirates A380 flying Dubai-London Heathrow. It was flight EK 5 yesterday.
The passenger was a 30-year old Dutch national who had to be restrained by cabin crew. He was eventually pinned down on the cabin floor and tied up.
According to reports he was held for 2.5 hours before police “swarmed” the A380 after it landed at Heathrow.

French media now reeporting that the airline initially referred to in this thread, Air Mediterranee, has been placed in liquidation.

Charles-PParticipantSome really funny coverage of the Air Mediterranee bankruptcy in the French press. Seems that some of the staff decided to stick to the national stereotype in this situations and did the following (remember this is AFTER the airline had already gone out of business and all the staff had been laid off)
Voted for a strike to protest their redundancy.
Voted for an increase in their redundancy payments
Demanded that Air France/KLM take over Air Mediterranee and give them all their jobs back.The response from Air France was not recorded.

MrMichaelParticipantCharles-P, I have no doubt AF will seriously consider this amazing offer. AF have been operating bankrupt for years, so taking on another small limping donkey should not be too much of a burden. The alternative is the burning of an AF model aeroplane on the Champ Elysees.

Charles-PParticipantSometimes the actions of trade unionists in France remind me of the Liverpool Dock Workers who were still on strike and manning a picket 12 years after their dock closed or the print workers who threatened to hold a “vigil” outside of the old Times building after News International had already gone to Wapping.
I’m sorry their airline closed and they lost their jobs but to expect another company to come along and give them jobs on the premise that they are also French and an airline is amazing.16 Feb 2016

knightflyerParticipantNot sure it’s truly a Buddhist airline but you can take a scenic one hour flight out of Kathmandu to see Everest…on Buddha Air đŸ™‚
