The Ruby Group has added its 18th hotel in Europe with the opening of its first property in Ireland.

The 272-room Ruby Molly is located on East Arran Street, just north of the River Liffey and a ten-minute walk from Temple Bar.

The property is located on the former grounds of St Mary’s Abbey, founded in 846, which was later transformed into a lively market quarter.

The hotel draws inspiration from the site’s history and “this meeting of rural and urban”, featuring sumptuous fabrics, marble and glass juxtaposed with distressed leather, vintage tiles, blackened steel, cartwheels and baskets. The hotel also boasts a library featuring archaeological discoveries from the surrounding area.

A hybrid bar space features digital check-in screens, and also serves breakfast, bottomless barista coffee, Mediterranean-inspired snacks and cocktails, alongside live performances by up-and-coming brands.

The hotel features five room categories, starting from the 16 sqm Nest and 17 sqm Cosy – designed for solo travellers – to the 18-22 sqm Lovely, 25 sqm Wow and Loft rooms (the latter come with a private terrace) for longer stays.

Rooms, meanwhile, feature open vanities, glass rain showers, light hues and walnut wood accents, as well as Ruby Care aromatherapy products. Guests can also hire an electric guitar or plug their device into the in-room amp.

Each floor features free tea facilities and an iron, plus a vending machine selling everything from non-alcoholic drinks and snacks to umbrellas and toothbrushes.

Ruby Hotels launched in 2013, and currently operates 18 properties in locations including London, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Zurich.

The group also has plans to open its second hotel in Dublin in 2025, located on Middle Abbey Street close to the city’s main Henry Street shopping area.

Looking to the future, the group is set to debut in Scotland next year and recently unveiled plans for its first property in Northern Europe, with a 187-room hotel set to open in Stockholm in 2026.
