Marriott has signed deals to add three luxury US hotels to its portfolio this summer.

First up the existing Conrad New York Midtown is leaving Hilton’s portfolio on 4 June, and will join Marriott’s Luxury Collection the following day.

The property is located on West 54th Street, and joined the Conrad brand in 2019 (having previously been known as the London NYC hotel). Going forward it will be branded as The Luxury Collection Hotel Manhattan Midtown.

Meanwhile the five-star Newport Beach property The Resort at Pelican Hill (pictured below) will join Marriott’s luxury portfolio on 1 July. The 504-acre resort hotel features two 18-hole golf courses, and is expected to join the St Regis brand “at a later date”.

Finally the existing Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore of Hawaii’s O‘ahu island is set to join The Ritz-Carlton brand later this summer. The property features a mixture of ocean view rooms, suites and oceanfront bungalows, and is within walking distance of no less than seven beaches.

Commenting on the news Leeny Oberg, chief financial officer and executive vice president, development, Marriott International, said:

“In the last few weeks, we finalized deals for conversions of three incredible properties, adding over 1,000 rooms to our system and continuing to underscore our commitment to luxury.

“We are sought out by owners because of the depth and breadth of our brand portfolio and the power of our platform to drive results. Today, the company has an industry-leading global luxury distribution of over 510 open hotels with another 234 luxury hotels in the signed pipeline.

“We look forward to strengthening our leadership in this important customer segment as we continue to work with owners to maximize the potential of their projects.”
