Air Canada has opened a new co-branded facility at Billy Bishop Toronto City airport in partnership with Aspire Lounges.
Referred to as the Aspire | Air Canada Café, the space is located in the airport’s domestic departures area, and is open daily between 0530 and 2030, with seating for up to 133 guests.
Features include a choice of private workspaces, lounge seating and communal tables, with locally-sourced F&B options including coffee, breads, pastries, wines, beers and cocktails, as well as a ‘Homemade-to-go’ area for takeaway sandwiches and light bites.
Aeroplan 50K, 75K and Super Elite Status members, as well as Star Alliance Gold members, Aeroplan premium co-brand cardholders and customers connecting to an Air Canada business class ticket receive complimentary access to the lounge, which can also be booked through executivelounges.com or via other membership programmes including Priority Pass, American Express and Dragonpass.
The facility has been built to LEED ID+C standards, and incorporates sustainable initiatives including wine served o tap, which Aspire said eliminates the use of around 9,000 glass bottles per year.

Commenting on the news Jacqueline Harkness, Managing Director, product and services, Air Canada, said:
“We know how much Air Canada customers value the convenience of flying to and from Billy Bishop, especially the many who travel frequently within the busy Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal corridor.
“Collaborating with Swissport on the Aspire | Air Canada Café, we’re excited to be elevating the Air Canada experience at Billy Bishop and to once again build upon our network of best-in-class lounges.“
The Aspire | Air Canada Café is the first dedicated airport lounge at Billy Bishop Toronto City, which is situated on the Toronto Islands, south-west of the city’s downtown. The airport is currently served by Air Canada Express and Porter Airlines.
The facility is Swissport’s 63rd lounge across 38 airports, and the group’s sixth in Canada, joining two in Calgary, two in Montreal and one in Ottawa.
The Aspire lounge at Belfast City airport is currently undergoing a £1.2 million refurbishment and expansion project, with the existing space set to be increased to accommodate a total of 178 seats.
