The Hoxton will open its latest European hotel in August, with the unveiling of a second property in the Dutch city of Amsterdam.

The Hoxton, Lloyd Amsterdam will be situated in the city’s Eastern Docklands, within a 1920s building formerly home to by the Royal Dutch Lloyd Shipping Company.

Features include 136 rooms, destination restaurant Breman Brasserie, Barbue cocktail bar, a south facing terrace, and the brand’s hybrid events and meeting space The Apartment.

Interior design mixes original timber panelling, tiling and stained-glass windows, with vintage furniture, artwork from emerging and established local artists, and seven glass chandeliers in the hotel’s brasserie which “hark back to the glamour of the landmark structure’s Art Deco roots”.

The Hoxton brand launched in London’s Shoreditch in 2006, and currently has 11 properties open across Europe and North America, including the brand’s first Amsterdam hotel which opened in 2015.

Recent additions include The Hoxton, Charlottenburg in West Berlin, and The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush in London (see below for our Tried and Tested review).
