Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans for the first property under its prizeotel brand in the UK and Ireland.

The 145-room prizeotel Dublin will be located on James Street in the city’s Liberties district, and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2025.

Features will include a restaurant and bar in the ground floor lobby area, and rooms “decorated in a mix of urban style and relaxed ambience”.

The prizeotel property will join Radisson’s existing Dublin hotels, including the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin, Radisson Blu Hotel St Helens, and Radisson Blu Hotel Dublin Airport.

Radisson describes prizeotel as “a value engineered, high-design-focused brand for tech-savvy, connected midscale lifestyle travellers in vibrant, urban locations offering convertible, flexible spaces”.

The group (then known as Rezidor) purchased a 49 per cent stake in prizeotel in 2016, and has since acquired the remainder of the brand, which currently operates 17 properties across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium.

Last year it outlined plans to grow prizeotel’s portfolio including its introduction into the UK market, and in this week’s press release Radisson said that “additional openings and signings in exciting European destinations will be announced soon with a particular focus on the UK and Ireland”.

Commenting on the news Elie Younes, executive vice president and global chief development officer at Radisson Hotel Group, said:

“We are very excited to announce the signing of our first prizeotel property in the UK and Ireland region after the brand’s fantastic growth across central Europe in 2022.

“We have a solid portfolio of Radisson Hotel Group brands across Ireland and this new property will be a welcomed addition.”
