Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts will open a new luxury resort on Sindalah island in Saudi Arabia.

The island, part of the kingdom’s NEOM master project, is spread across 840,000 sqm and is located in the Red Sea.

The new Four Seasons resort will feature 225 rooms and suites with terraces overlooking the beaches of the Red Sea, as well as 52 villas with one- to four-bedroom configurations with plunge pools and beach views. The Presidential and Royal villas offer private swimming pools, gyms and access to private yacht docks.

It will also feature four culinary concepts, as well as several lounges. Amenities will include an expansive spa with several treatment rooms, relaxation lounges, a hammam and vitality pool, as well as a fitness centre, multiple indoor and outdoor pools, and a variety of water activities including skiing, kite surfing, and windsurfing, among others.

An onsite diving centre will also allow guests to explore the destination’s marine ecosystems that exist within the Red Sea.

The property’s architecture is being led by Luca Dini Design & Architecture, while the interiors for its guest room and public areas are being designed by RBTA and LW Design respectively.

“Sindalah follows NEOM’s vision and purpose of mitigating the impact of unchecked urban development, while protecting and regenerating the rich natural capital of the region. In terms of hospitality, our goal is to shape a new frontier for the industry, and Four Seasons is the perfect partner to work alongside towards this,” says Chris Newman, executive director of Hotel Development at NEOM.

Sindalah will open to the public in 2024 and is expected to create 3,500 jobs within the tourism sector and related hospitality and leisure services.

Sindalah will feature an 86-berth marina, and a 6,474-yard par 70 golf course.
Prior to the Four Seasons, Marriott International signed an agreement with NEOM to open three properties on Sindalah.

It includes Marriott’s first Autograph Collection property in Saudi Arabia, as well as two Luxury Collection hotels. Marriott’s Autograph Collection Hotels in Sindalah is slated to open in 2024 and will include 66 rooms and suites. The two Luxury Collection properties will also open in 2024. The first is a beach resort that will offer a mix of 70 luxury rooms and suites, including one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom villas, all featuring private pools. The second hotel is expected to be an all-suite property offering 115 one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury suites, and will be situated in the heart of the retail and marina district of Sindalah.

As for Four Seasons, this is the second project it has confirmed in the last couple of weeks in Saudi Arabia. In March, it unveiled plans for a Foster + Partners designed property that will offer approximately 149 rooms and suites set to open within The Red Sea development.
