British Airways has announced a further extension of the validity of eVouchers which were issued as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The vouchers had been valid for flights departing and returning by September 30, 2023, but this date has now been extended to September 30, 2024.

Earlier this year it was reported that BA’s parent company International Airlines Group was still holding more than €650 million in unclaimed vouchers.

BA has begun emailing customers with eVouchers to inform them of the extension, as well as providing the following information:

“To pay or part-pay for flights using your eVoucher, simply select your flights on ba.com and continue to the ‘Review your flights’ page, where you can apply your eVoucher details. You’ll need:

  • eVoucher number
  • Registered surname and email address associated with the eVoucher

If you’re unsure of your voucher details, you can use our handy reminder tool.

Up to four eVouchers can be used per booking. Rest assured, if your total booking value is less than your eVoucher, we’ll automatically send you another eVoucher for the remaining amount.”

Last month Qantas announced a fourth and “final” extension to its so-called “Covid credits”, allowing customers to complete their travel by December 2024.
