Radisson Hotel Group has added the second UK property under its growing Radisson Hotels brand.
The former Park Inn by Radisson York City Centre (which I last reviewed back in 2010) has been reflagged as the Radisson Hotel York following a renovation project.
Built in 1969, the property is situated on the banks of the River Ouse and remains the second tallest building in the city.
Works at the 200-room property have included new flooring, furniture and soft furnishings, as well as the addition of self-service check-in desks and updated decor “showcasing neutral tones and sleek design throughout the hotel, reflecting the Radisson brand’s Scandinavian roots”.
Facilities include The Paddle Room restaurant serving pub classics, grazing boards and sharing plates, as well as a fitness centre and meetings and events spaces accommodating up to 400 guests.
Radisson Hotel Group has been gradually expanding its Radisson Hotels brand beyond its US focus, with recent openings in Liège, Oslo, Riyadh and Johannesburg.
In 2020 the former Park Inn Heathrow was split into two properties – one under the group’s lifestyle Radisson Red brand, and the other operating as the 600-plus room Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre London Heathrow.
