The new Turkish Airlines lounge at New York JFK’s Terminal 1 is now open to Priority Pass members.

The renovated facility – which replaced the previous Alitalia lounge on the site – opened in November 2022, and has now joined the Priority Pass programme.

The facility is situated beyond security between gates 2 and 2, and has views of the runway.

Features include seating for up to 140 guests, as well as a prayer room and breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, while design incorporates dar wood finishes and “mid-century inspired decor”.

Aside from Priority Pass members the lounge is open to Turkish Airlines’ business class passengers, as well as Elite and Elite Plus members of the airline’s Miles and Smile loyalty programme, Star Alliance first and business class customers and Gold members travelling with a Star Alliance member carrier.

The facility is open daily between 0900 and 2345, and pay-per-use access is also available dependent on capacity.

The JFK Terminal 1 lounge is Turkish Airlines’ third US facility, joining existing lounges at Miami International and Washington Dulles.

Commenting on the opening Turkish Airlines’ chairman of the board and the executive committee Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, said:

“We’re committed to expanding our footprint across more US gateways and the opening of the new lounge at JFK is yet another exciting accomplishment on this mission.

“John F. Kennedy International Airport is an important and iconic gateway for North America and we’re proud to now offer our passengers transiting through the New York area an elevated lounge true to the Turkish Airlines experience.”

The news follows the recent unveiling of new British Airways and American Airlines lounges at JFK’s Terminal 8, and this summer’s scheduled opening of a 14,000 square foot Sky Club on Concourse A at the airport’s Terminal 4.
