IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement with Arabella Group to open three new new-build hotels in Egypt between 2023 and 2026.

The hotels – InterContinental North Coast Direction White, voco Cairo Arabella Plaza Cairo, and Crowne Plaza Cairo Arabella Clubhouse – will cumulatively add over 500 keys to IHG’s Egypt portfolio.

The voco Cairo Arabella Plaza will be the first of the three properties to open its doors and will do so in July of this year. Located in New Cairo and only a 20-minute drive from Cairo International Airport, the voco property will be easily accessible from the city’s business parks, universities, shopping centres and leisure attractions. The 77-key hotel will also house five F&B outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, a range of small-scale signature restaurants and a rooftop bar. A swimming pool, health club, and a 427 sqm meeting space will also be present here.

IHG’s Crowne Plaza Cairo Arabella Clubhouse will open next in January 2026. Also located in New Cairo, the 146-key property will be built in the Arabella Compound. It will include three F&B outlets, a spa, health club and swimming pool. In order to appeal to the business community, it will feature a 750 sqm ballroom too. The property is located a 35-minute drive away from downtown Cairo.

Lastly, the InterContinental North Coast Direction White is scheduled to open in September 2026 and will be located in the luxury resort destination of Ras El Hekma in Egypt. Ras El Hekma, a beachfront location situated along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea is spread across 290 acres of residential, retail and hospitality developments. The InterContinental North Coast Direction White hotel will be a 346-key property which will also include five F&B outlets including an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, a lobby lounge and a pool bar. Meanwhile, the resort will feature a 397 sqm meeting space as well. Other facilities will include a club lounge, 1,500 sqm spa, health club, and a swimming pool. This InterContinental hotel can be accessed easily from the Alexandria International airport and the soon-to-open El Alamein International airport, both of which are less than an hour-and-a-half away.

Overall, IHG currently has seven hotels in Egypt, and 13 properties in its development pipeline for the country.
