Star Alliance member All Nippon Airways (ANA) is returning to Brussels and Munich as it continues to restore its international network following the reopening of Japan last October.
Haneda-Munich will resume on 26 March. The Munich service will run three times a week initially, on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Flights will depart Haneda at 2245 for a next morning arrival into the Bavarian capital at 0650. The returns leave Munich at 1115 on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays and land at Haneda the following morning at 0655.
The schedule will allow for smooth and efficient transfers between a large number of destinations including on Lufthansa Group’s vast network out of Munich.
ANA and other quality carriers continue to avoid Russian and Ukrainian airspace following Russia’s war against its neighbor.
This results in unusually long flight durations, particularly on the westbound service to Munich which is currently blocked at 15:05 hours, more than two hours longer than previously.
ANA will fly Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on Haneda-Munich. These aircraft offer flatbed business class, premium economy and economy class seating.
Business class is fitted with 40 lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration and split across two cabins.

ANA will relaunch service to Brussels, too. Unlike the Munich route, Brussels will be served from Tokyo’s Narita Airport.
Narita-Brussels will restart on 11 March with two weekly rotations – on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Flights will depart Narita at 1100 and arrive in the Belgian capital at 1740. The returns depart at 2005 and land in Narita the next day at 1740 local time. These, too, will be operated by three-class 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
The airline said in a statement that the Munich and Brussels resumptions are in “response to growing demand and the relaxation of entry restrictions in various countries.”
Separately, ANA is also switching its North American routes to Seattle and Vancouver from Tokyo’s Narita to downtown Haneda Airport.
