British Airways has confirmed plans to increase the frequency of its Heathrow-Tokyo Haneda service from next month.
The flag carrier restarted flights to the Japanese capital in November last year, following a 12-month gap as a result of Covid-19.
BA has been operating the route daily since it resumed, but will move to eleven flights per week from March 26, “to support a surge in travel demand between the two capitals”.
The extra frequencies will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday departing Heathrow, and on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday departing Tokyo. Full schedules can be seen in the table below.
Flights are served by the carrier’s B787-9 aircraft, configured with World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and Club World (business class) seating.
The increase in frequency also coincides with the 75th anniversary of the carrier’s operations in Japan this year.
Commenting on the news Noella Ferns, British Airways’ head of sales Asia Pacific said,
“We’re delighted to offer our customers more choice when travelling to and from Japan’s capital, increasing seats on the route after our long-awaited returns to this popular destination in November last year.
“Our new schedule, which will come into operation from the end of next month, will mean that on four days of the week, British Airways will offer customers a double daily service between Tokyo and London.”
