Experiential travel hospitality company, Collective Retreats, has said that it will open a sustainability-focused property in Neom’s Trojena.

Slated to open at the start of 2026, Collective Trojena will be located in the mountain destination located in north-west Saudi Arabia.

The retreat will feature approximately 60 open-air guest rooms and meeting space concepts, as well as water features, communal campfires and culinary experiences.

Collective Trojena will also offer direct access to the development’s full array of year-round outdoor activities including skiing and snowboarding, high altitude training, paragliding, mountain biking, hiking, and water sports as well as culture-focussed programming around film, art, music, and food.

With a focus on sustainability, the property will combine solar and wind energy, while developing technology in water desalination and brine processing to achieve zero waste residual.

“In addition to giving a global audience a new perspective on this spectacular mountain setting, we are committed to demonstrating that luxury travel should not be extractive and it’s possible to both preserve the environment and deliver extraordinary guest experiences,” said Collective Retreats CEO and founder, Peter Mack.

Chris Newman, executive director, Hotel Development at Neom, added, “With Trojena, and Neom overall being home to some of the most breath-taking landscapes, we’re thrilled to have selected a partner that shares our ambition to forge a new path for our industry, one that’s characterised by travellers living with nature.”

Construction on Trojena commenced in December 2022 and is slated to welcome its first guests in 2026. It will feature 30km of ski slopes for visitors, ultra-luxury and wellness hotels and resorts as well as over 100 indoor and outdoor experiences.

In October last year, Neom’s Hotel Development division inked a deal with Ennismore for the latter to become its inaugural hotel partner with two of its brands – 25 Hours Hotels and Morgans Originals – slated to open in Trojena.

Earlier this year, General Hotel Management signed on to manage The Chedi Trojena property.
