IHG Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to debut its Vignette Collection in China and Germany.

Shanghai Snow World Hotel, Vignette Collection will form part of a dual-branded development which will also house a Crowne Plaza property.

The two hotels will be situated within the forthcoming Shanghai Yaoxue Snow World Complex, described as “a highly anticipated integrated sports-entertainment-tourism resort with the world’s biggest alpine-themed indoor ski park”.

Both properties are scheduled to open in the first half of 2024, with the Crowne Plaza hotel offering around 375 rooms and the Vignette property around 275.

Meanwhile in Germany IHG will open Alte Post Vignette Collection in Reit im Winkl (pictured above), a village on the German/Austrian border in southeastern Bavaria, popular for outdoor activities including skiing, mountain trekking and hiking.

The hotel is scheduled to open in 2026, and will offer 150 rooms, two restaurants, a wellness area including saunas and a swimming pool.

IHG launched the luxury lifestyle Vignette brand in 2021, with Hotel X in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley the first to join the brand, followed by properties in Portugal, Austria and Thailand.

IHG’s Vignette Collection debuts in Europe

Commenting on the brand’s debut in Germany, Willemijn Geels, vice president of development for Europe, at IHG Hotels and Resorts, said:
