Marriott International has signed an agreement  to bring The Ritz-Carlton and Marriott Executive Apartments to the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou.

The Ritz-Carlton Suzhou is expected to open at the end of 2024, featuring 190 guest rooms and suites designed by Remedios Studios. A range of dining options will include a specialty restaurant with an open kitchen, Chinese restaurant, bar and lobby lounge. Leisure facilities will include an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and signature Ritz-Carlton spa with four treatment rooms. The property is also expected to offer 735 sqm of event space.

Following this in June 2025 will be Marriott Executive Apartments, a serviced apartment brand targeted to long-stay travellers. The property will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments with separate sleeping, living and working areas. Facilities will include a 31 sqm meeting room and the Residents Lounge.

Both properties will be part of China Central Place Suzhou, a new mixed-use development with hotels, retail, offices and apartments. The site is conveniently located close to Shilu Subway Station and is 2.5 kilometres to Suzhou Railway Station.

“Under the ‘Brand + Destination’ development strategy — matching destinations with brand debuts and entries, we are delighted to announce the new signings with Suzhou Chunji Real Estate Development,” said Gavin Yu, chief development officer, Greater China, Marriott International. “The dual-branded properties will cater to the growing guest demand for differentiated experiences.”
