Travelodge has provided an update on the rollout of its new “budget-luxe” design, with a total of 68 properties now featuring the concept.
The group unveiled the new design in April 2022, with features including a new “timeless classic style” reception, as well as a contemporary Bar Cafe concept and redesigned rooms.
So far 65 existing hotels have been upgraded, and three new-build properties have opened with the new design, including the recently unveiled London Wimbledon Central Travelodge.
The group used the opening of the Wimbledon property to announce that it is searching for a further 127 hotel sites across the capital. Travelodge currently has a presence in 31 out of 33 London boroughs, and four London properties are under development in Beckenham, Bermondsey, Chiswick and Peckham.
Travelodge operates a total of 595 hotels across the UK, Ireland and Spain, and said that “it is our intention to upgrade all of our hotel portfolio to the new budget-luxe format”, with phase 2 of the rollout expected to be launched in the spring.
Commenting on the news Karen Broughton, Travelodge chief sales and marketing officer, said:

“Our in-house Refit team have been working around the clock during the last nine months and have literally upgraded around two Travelodge hotels per week, which is no mean feat.”
