IHG’s Kimpton Clocktower Manchester has launched a new ‘Warm Workspaces’ initiative to help remote workers facing increased energy bills.

The hotel, located on the city’s Oxford Road, is opening up its heated meeting rooms to those in the local community who are working from home during the winter months. The initiative includes a complimentary desk within one of the hotel’s meeting rooms, free wifi access, a hot drink and filtered water.

To benefit from the initiative, you can book a place for free via Eventbrite. Slots are available from 8am-1pm and 1pm-6pm and guests can book a maximum of three days a week, per person.

“As the cost of living crisis continues in the UK, many of us are facing tough decisions. High numbers of people have moved to working from home following the pandemic and are facing a winter with increased energy bills.

“We’d like to help by offering a relaxed change of environment, with no pressure or requirement to buy a drink or make a purchase.”

The hotel opened in 2020 within Manchester’s Grade II listed clocktower building on Oxford Road, and dates back to 1890 when it first opened as The Refuge Assurance Company headquarters, with the restaurant and bar The Refuge paying homage to its past.
