UAE national carrier, Etihad Airways, will increase flights between Abu Dhabi and Jakarta to a double-daily service starting October 1, 2023.

The flights will be operated using Etihad’s fleet Boeing B787 and B777 aircraft. The schedule of these flights are below:

Flight Departing Time Arriving Time Aircraft Days
EY474 Abu Dhabi 3.05am Jakarta 2:35pm B777 Daily
EY475 Jakarta 5.05pm Abu Dhabi 10:05am B777 Daily
EY472 Abu Dhabi 10.30am Jakarta 9:40pm B787-9 Daily
EY471 Jakarta 1.40am Abu Dhabi 6.40am B787-9 Daily

Once the double daily service commences, Etihad will operate 14 weekly nonstop flights between Abu Dhabi and the Indonesian capital.

“Etihad Airways is delighted to boost air connectivity between Abu Dhabi and Indonesia, one of the fastest-growing economies in the world,” said Arik De, chief revenue officer at Etihad Airways.

“Our new flight has been optimised to arrive in Abu Dhabi in the morning, giving travellers from Indonesia a head-start to explore the city. At the same time, our new service leverages our recently-expanded relationship with Garuda Indonesia to make it even more convenient for UAE residents to visit Jakarta, or one of 20 other destinations throughout Indonesia.”

Etihad first signed a codeshare agreement with Garuda back in 2012. Last November, it strengthened that agreement to nearly double the number of combined destinations Etihad and Garuda offer beyond the Abu Dhabi and Jakarta hubs, with 42 destinations across the Indonesian archipelago, South East Asia, the Middle East, US and Europe. Additionally, the partners offer reciprocal miles accrual and redemption opportunities to members of Etihad Guest and GarudaMiles across both airline’s networks.

At the time, Etihad said that the two carriers would explore further areas of collaboration including cargo, maintenance, repair and overhaul, and pilot/crew training services.
