Tourism, one of the world’s fastest-growing industries, is a major economic driver, impacting commerce, job creation, investment, infrastructure, and social inclusion. India as a major tourist destination provides ecological, rural and spiritual tourism, leisure/adventure/heritage tourism, medical and wellness, and MICE.

India has become an attractive destination for FDI in recent years, influenced by various factors which have boosted FDI including Ease of Doing Business and Single Window Clearances. India is an emerging mega economy which has skilled human resources, and the country is rich in the natural resources with booming capital markets. Important reforms are being made in the FDI policy to safeguard the Indian companies as well as develop India as the best and a top destination for foreign investors.

Recognising the full potential of the Indian Tourism Industry, the Central Government aims to achieve USD 1 Trillion in tourism GDP and make India a worldwide leader in Tourism by 2047. As a step towards this, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is organising the Global Tourism Investors’ Summit scheduled to be held on April 10-12, 2023, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as the Industry Partner.

The Summit will promote the Indian travel and tourism industry as an ‘Investment Destination’, providing a common platform for the Central/State Governments and the domestic as well as global investors to discuss investment possibilities in the domestic tourism industry, a bouquet of tangible investment ready projects for investors as well as partnership in form of B2B and B2G linkage.

To share the details of Global Tourism Investors’ Summit, a Road Show was organised on January 19, 2023 at St. Regis Hotel, Mumbai.
